BRITISH CATTLE SUBSIDY VOTED BY PARLIAMENT . Pres* Association—By Telegraph -Copyright LONDON, February 25. In the House of Commons Mr Walter Elliot (Minister of Agriculture) said he in no way apologised' for introducing a supplementary estimate of £2,146,300 tor _ a cattle subsidy to cover the interim while the Government grappled with the large and involved problem. Mr Henderson Stewart (Lib. Nat.) asked Mr Elliot to issue a White Paper indicating his general objective regarding agriculture generally and meat particularly. The vote was earned by 148 votes to 41.
