SPEED WINS THE STAKES The Wanganui Jockey Club’s Summer Meeting was concluded in glorious weather, 'there was a satisfactory attendance, and the track was fast. The totalisator handled £10,023 10s, compred with £8,012 10s, making a total for the .meeting of £19,406 10s, against £13,608 10s last year. Detailed results: — FORDELL HURDLES. VETERAN TRAINER RETIRES. The success of Porotiti in the Campbell Handicap marked the retirement from racing of the veteran Forclell trainer F. Tilley, after framing for nearly fifty years.
