NEGRO WITH KNIFE
FRENCHWOMAN KILLED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright PARIS, January 21. A negro named Debats, infuriated because his master, Dcschamps, a former colonial official, attempted to dissuade him from marrying, allegedly ran amok with a knife, killing the wife of Deschampa and seriously injuring Dcschamps. The negro barricaded himself in tbc Deschamps chateau and took down poisoned arrows from the waljs, with which ho kept gendarmes at a distance until ho was struck down by a bullet wound in the leg. Peasants attempted to lynch Debats, whom the police rescued, seriously injured.
