MOTHER DIES FROM SHOCK Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright JOHANNESBURGH, January 21. A recent boxing contest in Johannesburg had a tragic sequel to-day when Mrs Stevens, mother of Laurie Stevens, the Olympic light-weight champion, who is now a professional, died. She was present at a fight between Stevens and an Italian (Aldo Spoldi). Seeing heir son knocked down for the first time in his career she collapsed and never recovered from the shock.
