WEATHER FORECAST
FAIR AND WARM The following weather forecast waS issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the southern districts—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton, Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— A moderate anti-cyclone is crossing the dominion, its centre being in the north, but a depression extends from the South Tasman Sea on to southern. New Zealand. Forecast: Moderate but freshening northerly winds; weather fair and warm, but soon clouding over and later rain developing; seas rough. BRIGHTER CONDITIONS. Brighter and warmer weather was experienced in Dunedin to-day after two comparatively dull and cold days. Occasionally the sun was obscured behind fluffy clouds, but an almost complete absence of wind assisted to make conditions so much more pleasant. The maximum temperature up till mid-day was 75.4 deg, and the minimum 66.1 deg. Yesterday’s temperatures were- ' Maximum 67.3 deg, and minimum 53deg. No rainfall was recorded for the twentyfour hours ended at 9 a.m. to-day.
