WELLINGTON’S ANNIVERSARY
SPLENDID WEATHER [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 22. The weather is fine for the Wellington provincial anniversary. The main attraction is the racing at Trentham, and a big crowd is assured. The Wahinc loft at 8 o’clock on an excursion to Picton, where the New Zealand speed boat competitions are being held. She has a capacity load, and a great many people were turned away on the wharf. The local attractions are a regatta on the harbour, athletic sports, cricket, including the women’s trial for the team to meet the Englishwomen, and the Now Zealand croquet tournament. The bays are attracting great crowds, and many people have gone to the country, including Otaki and Mnsterton, where holiday attractions have been arranged. 'Pho early settlers hold their usual gathering this afternoon.,
