NEWS Of ELLSWORTH
HAS FLIGHT SEEK ABANDONED ? VESSEL HEADING FDR SOUTH AMERICA The latest news of the Wyatt Earp, Ellsworth’s expedition ship, is that she is now heading back to South America. From this advice it is clear that, the ship has broken away from the ice pack in which she was jammed when journey-, ing south, and that Ellsworth was not successful in finding a suitable place from which to hop off on his transantarctic flight. The season is fact approaching when, unless they are prepared to spend a winter in the ice, the explorers will have to leave the Antarctic regions. Byrd’s ships are already far south on their journey to embark the ice party for the return to civilisation, and the message reporting that the Wyatt Earp is heading towards South America suggests that Ellsworth has abandoned his project.
