Tho fortnightly' meeting of Court Excelsior was held in tho court room, Mornington. The court was opened in mourning for tho late Bros. .1. W. Curie and G. A. Chief Banger Bro. A. C. Stewart presided over a full attendance of officers and a largo number of members. The Secretary reported that he had sent letters of sympathy to the relatives of tlie late P.C.R. Bro. J. W, Curie and Bro. G. A. Leslie, and his action was endorsed by tho members standing in silence. Court King Edward's Pride wrote asking for two teams of four players to take part in tlie semi-finals of its cribbago and euchre tournament, and it was decided to enter two teams. It was resolved to send a. letter of congratulations to Bro. -Mason on being chosen to represent Otago in the forthcoming Sanders Cup yacht races. The Chief Ranger called upon P.C.R. Bro. 0. O. Jackson to present tlie halfyearly balance-sheet and auditors’ report, which showed the court to bo in a, very sound position. On behalf of tho auditors Bro. Jackson thanked the secretary (Bro. Patton) for his assistance. After discussion the balancesheet was adopted and the auditors accorded a vote of thanks. J .B. Bro. R. C. Lamb reported that during the holidays lie had attended a meeting of Court Manawatu, and that he had extended fraternal greetings on behalf of Court Excelsior. At the close of tho meeting tho members took part in the second last night’s play of the series of games for the Thomson Cup. The final night’s play in tho second scries of games will take place next court night.
