PICNIC AT WARRINGTON
The West Harbour Returned Soldiers’ picnic was held at War ring don on Saturday, the weather being all that could be desired. Some 175 people journeyed by train, and on arrival at the beach the committee soon had a •scries of races and sports on the way, keeping the children happy till a halt was called for lunch. Afterwards a baby show was held, and Mrs N. S. Parks, acting as judge, awarded first prize to Mrs Barr's baby, equal with Mrs Faithful’s. Mrs Rawling’s and Mrs E. Cordell’s were also placed on the winning list as first in their respective classes Races were also held lor adults and the committee, Mr W. Hunt proving too good for all the committee men. The committee thanks Messrs Cadbury, Fi y, Hudsons, the Phoenix Company, and Romisons Ltd. for donations of chocolate and sweets for the children, also Messrs llarraway and Son, J. Curtis, and G. Barclay and Co. for donating prizes for the various events. Mr H. Conpcr, of Warrington, is also deserving thanks. The picnic was such a success that the committee has decided to make it an annual outing for the mothers and children of West Harbour.
