(Received November 19 at 10 a.m.) The ‘ Weekly Dispatch ’ says that Sir Abe Bailey (the South African millionaire), has agreed to back the greatest motor race in history on the occasion of the Johannesburg jubilee in 1936. The course is from Algiers to Johannesburg, a distance of 8,139 miles. The winner will receive £IO,OOO. Sir Abe Bailey said he had rejected the request to support an air race similar to the Melbourne race.
