RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI DEFENCE CLUB The Kiwi Defence Rifle Club fired the first shoot of the No. 2 match on Saturday over the 600yds'and 600yds ranges. There was an attendance of twenty-four. AVeather’ conditions were fine, but a variable northerly wind made shooting *difficult, especially at 600yds. where the wind caused everyone a lot of trouble. The best score at 500yds was obtained by Rifleman AA 7 . Pullar, with 45. At 600yds Deputypresident Clayton was best, with 44. Following are the scores, with handicaps ; A GRADE.

DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club shot the first competition for prizes presen* ted by Captain G. C. Proudfoot on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of eighteen, and ten shots (two optional sighters) each were fired at 500yds and 600yds. Weather conditions were fine, but a dull light and a frontal fishtail wind made shooting conditions very difficult. Some good scores were registered, notably 45 each made by Riflemen W. Facer and .T.: M‘Knight in the order given at SOOyds, and 42 each at 600yds made bv Riflemen R. G. Graham and J. M'Knight, the former taking pride of place on tb« count back. Rifleman J.
