Sir,—lt was with a great deal of .satisfaction to many motorists of mj acquaintance that steps seem at last to be taken to stop such necessaiy waste of the club’s money in the abme m ter. November 16. [On behalf of the club it is explained • The A.A. (Otago) has always held the opinion that its area- should be thoroughly sign-posted. It may be that a thorough knowledge of local geography prompts “Wood Pile” to the view that theie is an excess of signs. But the A-A. (Ota<*o), no less than other Ota„ bodies, is anxious to draw overseas ami dominion tourists to the uncalled secnic attractions of this city and prorate. It is felt that such visitors would not endorse “Wood .Pile’s” opinion on what most agree is efficient sign posting. Nor is It felt that A.A (Otago members would dissent from this broad view of the value of sign posting. “Wood Pile” is assured that no improper benefit has been given to anyone for the. supply of sign posts. The executive lias seen that its requirements have been met consistently with proper cost and efficiency. If “ Wood I"® should go from Dunedin on tour tins season the A.A. (Otago) will be glad to hear that he has seen and appreciated the equally useful sign posting of its sister organisations. —Ed., E.S.J
