SEAPLANE FORCED DOWN. One of two seaplanes on the Italian cruiser, Armando Diaz, was forced down at Lyall Bay this morning by bad visibility. One of the floats was slightly damaged. After some delay the machine was able to fly back to the warship.—Wellington Press Association. STORE BROKEN INTO. Brophy’s store at Hihitahi was raided about 1 o’clock this morning and the till broken open. The sum of £3 was stolen, also a quantity of cigarettes. Brophy was awakened by the burglars, and heard them decamp hurriedly in a stolen car. Two escapees from the Weraroa Training Farm ax’e suspected. Final evidence was heard to-day in the case in which Charles Ernest Vickers and Ernest Mabin Gilmour face allegations of fraud in connection with the Craftsman Manufacturing Company.
