CAVERSHAM SCHOOL

EX-PUPILS' ASSOCIATION Satisfaction with the position of the Caversham Ex-Pupils’ Association was expressed at the eighth annual meeting, held on Thursday evening. Mr A. Grant presided over a good attendance. Mr E. J. Allen (secretary) presented a report on the association’s activities for tlie past year, and Mr R. H. Todd (treasurer) presented the balance-sheet, which disclosed a balance of £8 12s 2d. Moving the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, the President said that, although the membership was below last year’s, the committee was not downhearted with the result, and hoped that with the return of good times more would be done for the old school. Another of the members (Mr Grimmett) was retiring, and the speaker hoped that some of the younger members would take on committee work. Ho thanked the ladies of the committee for their willing services at the socials, the school committee for the use of a room for committee meetings, and the executive for its assistance during the past year. Mr Todd, in seconding the motion, assured members that, although the membership and balance were decreasing, the association was still carrying on the good work for which it had been formed. The chairman of the school committee (Mr C. Sherlock) thanked members for the various donations to the committee, and assured them that their assistance was still much appreciated.
