THE LOCAL FILM
CASTING COMPLETE The casting has been completed for the first all-talking feature film to be produced in New Zealand, and the names of the successful applicants are published in this issue. Some wellknown names are included, and the producers are happy in the knowledge that they have a cast of talented players. Forty thousand feet of film will be used to make a unit programme of 11,000 feet, including a newsreel, scenic, a variety two-reeler, and the main feature, the working title of which is • Down On the Farm.’ Additions to the production staff include Mr R. Fisher as property and stage manager. The entire production unit will assemble at the Empire Theatre on Sunday, at 8 a.m.. wet or line, to proceed to IVoodsido for filming the firsi shots in On's ambitious and creditable undertaking.
