JAPANESE TYPHOON DISASTER GREAT LOSS OF LIFE AND ENORMOUS DAMAGE Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. KOBE, September 25. (Received September 26, at 10 a.m.) The latest figures show that great loss of life and enormous damage was caused by the typhoon. The death roll is 2,502, and 580 people are missing. Houses demolished number 74,000, and schools 289. The agricultural damage, excluding the Osaka and Nagoya prefectures, amounts to 102,000,000 yen, and damage to buildings 317,000,000 yen. Osaka’s loss exceeds a billion yen. Over 10,000 craft were wrecked. An inquiry will probably be held regarding school destruction, which was responsible for nearly half the deaths.
