VAUXHALL MODEL YACHT CLUB
The annual meeting of the Vauxhall Model Yacht Club was held on Saturday in the Vauxhall Sailing and Power Boating Club shed. Tire commodore (Mr Reid) was in the chair, there being a good attendance of members. The annual report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Mr James Miller, one of the oldest model yachtsmen, was called on to make the presentation of the Moller Challenge Cup to Mr F. Salter, owner of the first class model Sea Mist, Mr Isbister presenting Mr Ted Randell (owner of Elinor) with the second class cup and the Gibbon Cup to Mr H. Salter (White Wings). Prizes and certificates were also presented to boats gaining most points during the season, excluding cup races. The election of officers resulted: — Commodore, Mr G. lies; vice-commo-dore, Mr James Miller; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. G. lies (re-elected) : handicappor, starter, Mr A. Randell (re-elected) : auditor, Mr James Smith. Messrs W. Garvin and F. Salter were also appointed on the Sailing Committee. Four new members were elected. Prizes were offered by Mr Isbister and Mr Reid. It was decided to hold the opening day on Saturday, November 3.
