MUNICIPAL POWER SUPPLIERS
FIRST ANNUAL CONFERENCE [Per United Press Association.] AVELLINGTON, September 11. Sixty delegates from all. parts of the dominion met at the first conference oi the New Zealand Municipal Electric Power Supply Association to-day. The mayor (Mr T. C. A. Hlslop), who presided, said the. association was not formed in any spirit of antagonism to the existing association, which comprised both power boards and municipalities. The association was merely formed to protect the rights and privileges of municipal 'councils, and he added that out of thirty-nine municipalities supplying power thirty-seven had joined. . Rules and constitution were adopted, and the following officers were elected:—President, Mr T. C. A. Hislop (Mayor of AA’ellington) ; vice-presidents, Messrs J. Miller (Mayor of Invercargill) and O. Morse (Mayor of Napier). The Executive Council is to consist of delegates from Hamilton, Lyttelton, Stratford. AVairoa, Christchurch, and Palmerston North. The appointment of secretary and advisory engineer was left to the executive.
