A GERMAN’S APPLICATION a R.B.A. FAVOURS MEMBERSHIP [Per United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, September 11. > The Christchurch Returned Soldiers Association received a letter froni a branch association stating that a German who had fought for Ins country against the Allies in the war desired membership, and asking what it was to do. The Christchurch secretary replied that there was no provision for membership for an enemy soldier, but it was within the power of the branch to make the Gorman ex-soldier an honorary member)® the only consideration being his personal character. The secretary’s action was approved, the chairman (the Rev. F. T. Read) saying that he believed in the principle of extending friendship to ex-enemies.
