LOST A LEG
FORTUNATELY WOODEN / FIVE ESCAPE INJURY IK CRASH IPbr United Press Association,] CHRISTCHURCH, September 11. E. W. Prosser, a farmer, of Irwell, lost his leg last night when the car which he was driving crashed through the railings of Selwyn bridge and fell 10ft to the river bank below, but it was only his wooden leg. It snapped in two. Another unusual feature was that four young children were also in the ear, but none suffered the slightest injury, though the car was badly damaged and part of the bridge railing penetrated the roof.
