YOUTHS’ AFFORESTATION CAMP
GOVERNOR-GENERALS VISIT [Pee United Press Association.] WANGANUI, September 11. Lord Bledisloe visited the youths’ af forestation camp at Kaitoke this morning, when he was welcomed by a large gathering of country people. The weather conditions were not too favourable. but His Excellency had an opportunity of inspecting the nursery, where 46,000 trees have been planted by the boys in the camp, the seed being collected when the camp commenced operations last year and germinated in a city nursery. These trees will be planted out next year on waste sand areas, which have already been plapted in marram grass. Lord Bleclis loe expressed hearty appreciation at the work, and referred to the benefits which would accrue from the afforestation scheme
