SUBURBAN ROADING.
TO TB* EDITOR. Sir,—At the. north end of the city there would appear to he a want in the road communication between the Leith Valley and the suburbs on Pine Hill road. "The street known on the map as Harden street would have served the purpose had it been constructed. but it has not. Presumably it was found to be impossibly located, and the matter was just shelved without looking for another location. As it is now. to get from Dalmore to Malvern street near its junction with Patinos avenue, points about a quarter of a mile apart, von have either to come back into the' city, to George street, or else go miles up the Pine Hill road and down Patinos avenue. If Harden street is impracticable what would be the objection to brandling off from Patinos avenue about half a mile (perhaps a little less) from its junction with Malvedn street and grading a new road ’directly towards and connecting up with the Pine Hill road? Settlement will soon demand this, or some alternative to this if it does nut demand it now. — I am, etc., M. September 10.
