MONEY IN THE BANK
DIED IN APPARENT POVERTY [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 10. The inquest disclosed that, though he died in apparent poverty, in a filthy bach last week, Alfred Robert Carey, aged seventy-two, had over £74, including ninety-two half-sovereigns, in the place, besides £7OO in the Bank of New South Wales and >£9l4 in the Post Office Savings Bank. The bach was filled With scrap metal and rubbish.
