SCHOOL COMMITTEE REPORT
The monthly meeting of the High Street School Committee was held on the sth inst. The Head Master presented his report, which showed a roll of 390, an increase of fifteen over the previous term, and the attendance very good. The inspector’s report had been received, and it reflected great credit on the staff. Although none of the school teams had won any of the winter competitions, the results had been very satisfactory, four teams finishing as runners-up. The queen carnival, which closes on the 11th inst.. has proved most successful, and it is certainly expected that, with care, finance will not trouble the committee for some time. It was decided that the crowning ceremony be held at His Majesty's Theatre on October 3, particulars to be advertised later.
