THE SHARE MARKET

DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE Though only one sale was effected on 'Change this morning reported business showed the market to be fairly active. In the banking section New Zealands were firm, with buyers at last week’s sale price, and no sellers. Commercials showed a further slight improvement in the buying quote. Kaitangatas and Wcstports are still the only coal shares attracting attention, and this morning buyers advanced 3d, without producing a seller. Meat preserving shares maintained a strong inquiry, and Kefrigeratings had business at recent rates. Slight rises were recorded in the bids for New Zealand Drugs, ‘ Otago Daily Times’ shares, and Woolworth’s (Sydney), and the last-named showed sellers holding firm 6d above Saturday’s quote, and 9d above the sale price. New Zealand Breweries were inclined to harden still further, following reported business at 47s 6d. In the gold mining section Gillespie’s weakened a little, but otherwise there was no change in the market. The strong demand for Government Loans continues unabated. SALES.
