Waipiata arrived yesterday from Auckland and Lyttelton, and was to sail late this afternoon- for Bluff, Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. • ’ Opihi sailed this afternoon for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, New Plymouth, Nelson, and Westport. She will load for Dunedin at the latter port, and is due back here on September 21 to take in cargo for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via Oamaru, Timaru, and Lyttelton. Holingleu was scheduled to arrive this afternoon. from Wellington, and is to sail to-morrow for Timaru, Lyttelton, and Dargaville. The interisland express steamer Maori reached Lyttelton from Wellington at 7 a.m. yesterday. WAITAKI FOR MELBOURNE. Tlie Union Company advises that the Waitaki was to leave Bluff to-day for Melbourne. She will leave the_ Victorian port on September 19 for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and^ Wellington, and is duo on September 25. CARGO OF PAPER. The Parracombe arrived yesterday from Liverpool (Nova Scotia) via Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton with a cargo of paper. She was berthed at the Victoria wharf, where she completed her discharge. She is to sail for Westport, thence the islands. PORT HOBART FROM NEW YORK. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor ship Port Hobart arrived at Dunedin yesterday from New York via Panama Canal, Auckland, Wellington,

and Lyttelton. Sbe was berthed at the Victoria wharf, where the remainder other American cargo will he discharged. The Port Hobart is to sail this evening for Timaru to commence Homeward loading. FORDSDALE FROM LIVERPOOL. An arrival yesterday was the Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Fordsdale, from Glasgow and Liverpool via Panama Canal, Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. She was berthed at the George street wharf. Port Chalmers, where the remainder of her Horae cargo will he discharged. The Fordsdale left Liverpool on July 21, and arrived at Auckland on August 25. Except for strong westerly winds and rough head seas, which were experienced when the vessel was nearing New Zealand, generally fair weather prevailed on the voyage. For her Homeward voyage the Fordsdale will load at Port Chahners, Bluff, Timaru. Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Auckland. She is scheduled to leave Auckland finally on October 6 for London via Panama. PACIFIC MAIL SERVICES. —Southward.— Aoraugi is to leave Vancouver on September 12 for Auckland and Sydney via Honolulu and Suva. She is due at Auckland on October 1, and Sydney on October 6. Maunganui left San Francisco on August 29 for Wellington and Sydney via Papeete and Rarotonga. She is due at Wellington on September 17 and at Sydney on September 22. Niagara is to leave Vancouver on October 10 for Auckland and Sydney via Honolulu and Suva. She is due at Auckland on October 29 and Sydney on November 3. Mariposa is to leave Los Angeles on October 17 for Auckland and Sydney via Honolulu, Pago Pago, and Suva. She is due at Auckland on November 2 and Sydney on November 5. The City of'Winchester is reported to have cleared Cristobal on September 3. The vessel loaded at Port Arthur, Philadelphia, New'York, and Newport News for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on September 25. REMUERA CLEARS CURACAO. The Remuera, en route from London for New Zealand ports, sailed from Caracas Bay on Wednesday. She is due at Wellington on September 29, and is to complete discharge at Lyttelton. Port Chalmers, and Bluff. RARANGA IN BALLAST. The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Ilaranga was to leave London in ballast on Saturday for New Zealand via the Cape of Good Hope and Sydney. The vessel is due in-New Zealand about October 29 to commence loading for Great Britain. THE HAURAKI. After undergoing overhaul and survey the Hauraki left Sydney on Friday for Fiji, Apia, and Vancouver; The vessel is to load at Pacific Coast ports toward the end of October for Auckland, Wellington. Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney. She is scheduled to clear Los Angeles on November 7 and reach Auckland on December 3. PERSONAL. Captain G. W. Evans lias taken command of the Kanna, relieving Captain W. H. D. Gardner for orders. Mr J. Ritchie, chief officer of the Waihemo, has transferred to the Rangatira in a similar capacity, relieving Mr T. W. White, who has transferred to the Niagara as chief officer, relieving Mr R. B. Denniston for orders at Sydney. Mr R. Kendall has joined the Talune as third officer, relieving Mr T. Stevenson, who has transferred to the Hauraki in a similar capacity. Mr D. W. Williams has reported from holiday leave at Sydney, and has joined the Karepo as second officer, relieving Mr J. H. Ibbotson for holidays. Mr F. S. Bowman is now third officer of the Gabriella, having relieved Mr J. L. Collins for holiday leave at Sydney. Captain Larsen is in command of the Golden State. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL.
