WAR PLOT ALLEGED
GERMANY ACCUSED FEARS IN AUSTRIA. VIENNA, August 29. The Government newspaper, 1 Reiehspost ’ publishes a sensational announcement accusing Germany of conspiring with Yugoslavia with.the object of embarking on war against Austria and Italy. The object would be to secure for Germany a large part of Carinthia, also a fresh demarcation of the Yugoslav border, from the River Drau to the lower Towern Mountains. Germany and Yugoslavia allegedly have agreed that in the event of Italy’s defeat, the German frontier would extend to Trieste, on the Adriatic, which would become Germany’s southern port. Trieste was ceded to Italy by the Treaty of Versailles. The ‘ Reichspost ’ adds; “ Nazis in Yugoslavia have organised a new legion -.miliar to that in Bavaria. The leaders have been feted and supplied with money for propaganda purposes. The Borman-owned newspaper, ‘ Mariborer 'leitung,' actively prosecutes the cause, ft is openly stated that a new Nazi nutsch is being prepared for October, when the Austrian regime will be overthrown.” The ‘ Reichspost ’ says it has its information from most unassailable •-.onrees. Trouble will break out in October in Algeria. Tripoli, the Baltic countries, and in Switzerland and Ireland. . The announcement has deeph- impressed the Austrian Government. It would not have authorised publication of the announcement unless it were certain of the facts.
