(Received .September 8, at 9.35 a.m.) Ghulam Russian, a middle-aged Moslem, described as “Jack the Kipper,” was sentenced to life imprisonment on a charge of murdering twelve women. The crimes were committed over a period of seven years. The first victim was a girl aged twelve, and the last a woman aged sixty. He cleverly eluded the whole of the Hyderabad State Police. Russian generally attacked his victims at dusk in lonely places.
