VISIT SF AMERICAN PLAYERS [Per United Press Association.! WELLINGTON, September 8. The Now Zealand Golf Association has been tentatively approached by the Professional Golfers’ Association of America with a view of arranging a match against Now Zealand by the team of six which is being sent to Melbourne. The suggestion is that the team should be approached when the Mariposa arrives at Auckland and arrangements made for a visit_ to New Zealand when it arrives at Wellington on December 10 on its way back to America. . , The council has received an oiler from Messrs linlay ami Gonvillc Saunders, of Wanganui, to donate a challenge cup or plate for permanent competition, and has intimated its willingness to accept tho ofler. search Committee has outlined considerable expenditure which it considers necessary, and the council is sending a copy of .the recommendations to the clubs, with an indication that the matter of future policy will come up at the annual general meeting of delegates. In regard to the request by the New Zealand Professionals’ Association for financial assistance in connection with tho New Zealand professionals’ visit to Melbourne, Hie council resolved to reply that it was not within the province ni tho council to make, donations of this nature, which should como from the individual players, which it understood is already being given, effect to. ■
