MUSIC TEACHERS' ASSOCIATION
Much Interest is being created by the programme to bc j presented under the auspices of the Otago branch of the Music ' Teachers’' Association next Saturday. The works to be performed are all by Otago composers. It is almost two years since anything of this kind has been given in Dunedin, and on that occasion works by Dunedin composers were given,-the object being to encourage greater interest in composition. Every item will be tuneful and interesting, not only to those having musical training, but to those who merely seek to bi entertained. Hit Excellency the Governor-General has stressed the importance of fostering the creative art in New Zealand, and it is with this object that various branches of the M.T.A. throughout the dominion are taking active steps to encourage composers. The works themselves are most interesting, and tb« artists performing them are amongst the leading talent of the city. Patron* are therefore assured of good entertainment. Particulars as to the box plan will be found in the advertising columns.
