A COMPARISON
Some comparative figures as to the area and productivity of New Zealand -Demi ark -were given before the \5- ellingtoii Rotary Club by Mr J. T, Martin on Tuesday. He said that New Zealand had an area of 103,285 square miles: Denmark, 16,750 square miles (or less than one-sixth); Denmark carried a population of 3,500,000; New Zealand, 1,500,000. Denmark exported £26,000,000 worth of dairy products per annum; New Zealand; £17,000,000 worth. Denmark, • exported £24,000,000 worth of pork and bacon; New- Zealand, £17,000,000. Denmark exported £5,000,000, worth of live cattle ; New Zealand, , £125,000 worth. Denmark exported ■ £5,000,000- worth of eggs ; New Zealand practically nil. On the other hand, Denmark imported £17,000,000 worth of grains and fodder; for feeding cattle; New Zealand imported nil.
