LOCAL ASSOCIATION MEETS
The president (Mr L. K. Neil) occupied the chair at the fortnightly meeting: of the Dunedin branch of the N. 25. DX B.A. held in Messrs Charles Begg and Coi’s rooms on August 30. There was a good attendance of menu hers, who enjoyed an evening, of DX chat, and three members gave interesting talks on DX matters. The speakers were Messrs H. H, Lotbaby, J. E. A. Sanderson, and R. M. Wilkie, These short talks were of benefit to inexperienced DXers, and are to be continued at future meetings. Some fexcellent verifications were produced in connection with the competition, amongst the best being those from YKSMD (0 watts), VK2YW (15 watts), Milan (Italy). Frankfurt (Germany), HS7PJ (Bangkok. Siam), KTM (Los Angelos, 500 watts). The following were the winners of the competition:—
Senior.—America; Mr B. A. Henry, KHQ (1,000 watts). VK: Mr Henry, SMD. Australia: Mr E. Niven, 6AM, East: Mr Niven, HS7PJ. ' Junior. —American: Mr D. F. Carrutliers, KTM. East: Mr J. 'Patton, XGOA. VK: Mr G. Coutts, 3LN. Australia :Mr A. J. Breen, 6AM. Europe: Mr J. Pattison, Milan. * The best verification was from Milan. This station was logged by Mr Pattison on a five tube super-het.
