UNIVERSITY RADIO DEBATE
Following the experiment last year of a radio debate between the Otago University and the Canterbury University College, when the procedure was for the local speakers to put their case from 4YA and for the Canterbury debaters to give their speeches from 3YA, the judge’ hearing only the voices of the speakers, arrangements have been made to hold a similar debate on September 12. 4YA and 3YA will collaborate in Hie broadcast, and the subject will be ‘ That, the Schools, Churches, and Universities Arc Still the Educational Influences of the People.’ Mr W. J. Hunter, of Christchurch, will be the judge. The Otago speakers will be Messrs J. H. Kemnitu, J. D. Noil, and K. W. Stewart. The Canterbury team will be Messrs L. A. Efford, R. P. Taylor, and IV. IV ah.
