Every Girl’s Club, Y.W.C.A. Every Girl's Club held a very informal and happy party on Monday, which took the form of a farewell evening to Misses Pearce and Campbell, two of the oldest members of the club, who leave shortly on an extended holiday to Australia. Songs were rendered by Mrs Penman (with Mrs R. T. Little at the piano), violin solos by Miss Nancy Hobson (with Miss Alice Wilson at the piano), a solo dance (Scottish sword) by Miss Burton; competitions were arranged by Miss Busby, and a saxophone solo by Miss Bain; plantation coon songs were sung by Mesdames Stedman, Ken - , Renwick, and Cairney; also a very clever and amusing little play—a skit on the travellers going on board, etc.—by Mesdames Kerr, Renwick, and Stedman. This last item evoked great fun and laughter. Interspersed between items members enjoyed dancing. During supper Miss Reid took the opportunity on behalf of the club to present both guests with flowers and useful gifts of bonbons filled with handkerchiefs, wishing them both bon voyage and a pleasant holiday. Miss Lynn (general secretary), on behalf of the, association, expressed the wish that both

guests would have a thoroughly enjoyable time, and also thanked them lor all they had done in the interest of the club work at the Y.W.C.A. Musical honours wore then accorded, the guests suitably replying. Goming-of-Age Dance. To celebrate the comrug-of-agc of his only daughter, Betty, Mr George Black gave a dance in the Tudor Hall on Wednesday evening. Miss Betty, who made a striking figure in a closefitting gown of silver lame, made with a slight train and finished with strappings of silver and black sequins, with her father, received the guests, numbering over 100, in the lounge. The Tudor Hall was beautifully decorated for the occasion -with massed cinerarias and branches of blossom, and with the soft lighting presented a pretty picture. .During supper Dr Barnett proposed the health of the guest of honour, to which Mr Black replied for his daughter.
