AUSTRALIA V. MINOR COUNTIES MATCH DRAWN LONDON, September 6. The weather was fine and the wicket good for continuation of play. Within ten minutes of the start Darling and Chipperfield were out to successive balls. Darling flicked one into the slips, and Chipperfield was bowled behind his legs. , Barnett, driving vigorously, reached 50 in eighty-five minutes, and with Woodfull added 107 before he was bowled. Woodfull’s 50 occupied 110 minutes. He declared when Grimmett’s cheerful exhibition ended. The innings had lasted 300 minutes. , The home team started its second knock at 3.35. Wall bowled Harbord in his second over. Then Grimmett claimed three wickets in quick succession, and with four for; 45 the Australians had hopes of forcing a win, but Butler stayed ninety-five minutes for 20, while Fisher also played subbornly, ensuring a draw.
