The intercolonial steamer Abel Tasman is to leave Sydney on September 14 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. RANGITTKI AT LONDON. Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Rangitiki arrived at London on Wednesday from Wellington via Panama. The vessel left Wellington on August 3. _______ FORDSDALE DELAYED. The Shaw, Savill Company advises that the Forclsdale, which arrived at Lyttelton yesterday morning from Liverpool via ports, was unable to commence unloading cargo owing to heavy rain. The vessel will probably sail to-morrow for Port Chalmers. MAY CASUALTY RETURN. Only one British vessel—tho Ropner Shipping Company’s steamer Canby, 4.804 tons gross, which stranded on the coast of Newfoundland —is reported as a total loss in the May casualty return of the Liverpool Underwriters’ Association. The number of foreign vessels lost was seven—one motor ship and six steamers—and of these the most important were the Yugoslav Gundulic, 5.291 tons, which stranded off Puerto Bueno, in the River Plate: Latvian Vaidava, 2,181 tons, wrecked in Llanelly Channel; and Norwegian Ruteufjell, 1,570 tons, wrecked on Cape Egmont (C. 8.). None of the others was of more than 1,000. tons.

MOVEMENTS ON THE COAST. Holmdale sailed last night for Camara, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Miro sailed for Auckland direct yesterday. Port Waikato arrived from the north this morning. She sailed again early this afternoon for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland, and Whaugarei. Parera is now due from Wellington to-morrow, and will sail the same day for Wellington, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato via ports. Storm is due from Wanganui and Wellington on Monday, and will sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth . Opihi is due from Lyttelton to-mor-row morning. She is to sail the same day for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth. Holmglen is due from Wellington on Thursday, and is to sail the same day for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Dargaville via port*. Waipiata is due from Auckland via Lyttelton on Saturday. Her subsequent movements have not yet been announced. Wainui is duo from Bluff on Tuesday, and is to sail the same afternoon for Oamaru,. Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne. Port -Whaugarei is due about September 14 from the north to load for Tauranga, Auckland, and Port Whangarei. Waimarino was scheduled to leave Auckland to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She. is due about September 12. THE PORT DUNEDIN. The Commonwealth and Dominion Line motor, ship Port Dunedin cleared Liverpool on Saturday for Auckland, Wellington, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Nelson. She is due at Auckland about October 5. TO BE LAUNCHED BY WIRELESS. It is announced from London that the Duke of Gloucester, while attending tho returned soldiers’ concert in Brisbane on December 12, will launch by. wireless the new Orient liner Orion at Yickers-Armstrong’s yard at Barrow-in-Furness. Owing to the tides at Barrow, absolute precision in timing will be necessary. This will probably be the first time in the history of Australia that a British ship has been launched by wireless from those shores. NARBADA MEETING STORM. The Union Company’s chartered steamer Narbada, which was scheduled to arrive at Auckland from Eastern ports to-day, has reported that she is being delayed by bad weather. The vessel has cargo from Calcutta, Penang, Singapore, and Samarang for Auckland, Wellington, > Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. WRECKED WINTON.. As a result of the decision of the Court of Inquiry - af Cape Town, Captain Mordaunt ' has' been exonerated from all blame in connection with the stranding of the British motor ship Winton in Table' Bay on July 28. The court found that the disaster was due to the Milnertori 'airport Tight. It was found that the airport light was a danger to shipping, and the court urged that steps be taken to remove the danger and protect the good name of the port. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL. The local agents for the Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company advise that the recently-completed vessel Waiwera is'to leave* London for Port Chalmers via Suva, on September 12.
