(Received September 7, at 11.5 a.m.)t Reviewing 50,000 Labour service volunteers Herr Hitler foretold the general introduction of labour conscription, emphasising that the Labour corps was designed to break down class barriers. He told the volunteers that soon no German would be permitted to take his place in the community without first passing through the ranks. Two hundred thousand onlookers applauded the volunteers’ performance of military drill with spades instead of rifles.
