LONDON, July 30. 1 Owing to the failure of the Battersea power station, 10,000 square miles of Southern England were affected by a breakdown in the electricity grid, including London, iu which the tramways and. some electrical railways stopped, traffic lights failed, and radio sets stopped for an hour to three hours.
