DUNEDIN CENTRE first meeting of delegates Newly-elected delegates to the Dunedin Bowling Centre for the 1934-Jo season held their first batnrdav evening in the University-Club room. Mi- J. When the question of fixing the levies to be paid by clubs was introduced, the Chairman explained that the ordinary levy last year wasMs od. Alorrison (Balmacewen Club) moved that the champion of champions competition be played on the one-life J. Lloyd seconded the motion, which was lost. It was then decided that the competition, be conducted on the same lines as last year. . It was resolved to arrange the Adess Shield rink competition and the centre tournaments at Christmas and taster to follow the same; lines as last season. - It was also decided that the fourrink championship be conducted m the same manner as last year, and that at be a recommendation to the executive that the final be played on Saturday, February 9. CATERING FOE YOUNG PLAYERS. Air J H. Hinton moved that on the day when the Adess Shield was being played for the. centre arrange a rink •tournament for leads and seconds in ordinary club games if sufficient inducement offered. , j ~ . Several members expressed opinions, and the question of the classification of players in the tournament was brought up. ’ , ,V i The mover explained that the idea of the motion -was to .cater for the young members who had not the zest to enter the shield tournament. _ . PAIRS. CHAMPIONSHIP. Air S. Hutchison (Logan Park) moved that a pairs championship be started by the centre, jand that the Australian Friendship Clock be held for twelve months"by. the club winning the championship. - .. ~ Air G. Air D. C. Cameron moved that it be a recommendation to the .Dominion Council that at the Now Zealand Bowling Association’s annual tournament one competition be finished before another was commenced. , ' It was explained by the mover that he had moved the motion on behalt of another member of his club (nt. Kilda), and that the idea of the recommendation was to enable those players not taking part in the. full tournament to complete their games in as short a time as possible, without having to wait for days before they could finish their games. r In seconding the" motion, Air is. Long worth amplified the remarks of the previous speaker. A brief discussion ensued, and the motion was carried. GENERAL. There was a short discussion on the question of holding a bowlers* blazer ball, and it was decided that no action be taken. It was decided to place on record appreciation of the services of the past, president (Air E. T. G- Falconer). _ Reporting on the business dealt with at the annual meeting of the New Zealand Bowling Association, Air H. Rowley introduced the question of the weiidit of bowls. There was some dis-cus-.l'ui on the question, and delegates were urged to support the legislation

which had been framed, in connection with the matter. It was decided to place on record a minute of appreciation of the work or Air Rowley as the club’s delegate at the meeting.
