SOCCER FOOTBALL.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir.—ln reply to “ Fletcher Cup’s ” letter appearing in your issue of the 24th. I would like to explain why Mr Smith omitted to penalise me for cljarging the goalkeeper. As 1 did not so much as touch the goalie through the whole duration of the game Mr Smith could not penalise me for an infringement 1 did not commit. It is. very obvious that “Fletcher Cup” did not relish Maori Hill’ o defeat, and it is high time he became accustomed to his team being away from the top of the ladder and learned to take defeat like a roan. —I am, etc., V. S. Connolly. July 28.
