NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF i SPECIAL ORDER AUTHORISING RENEWAL LOAN OF £264,0CL PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that tlie Dunedin City Council, at a Special Meeting convened for the purpose and held on Wednesday, the 18th day of July, 1934, passed the undernoted Resolution authorising the raising of a Special Loan of £264,000 for the purpose of repaying Maturing Loans. The resolution is as follows: 1. That it be and is hereby resolved by the Dunedin City Council, so that this resolution may bo confirmed at a subsequent meeting of the Council and operate as a Special Order, that the said Council, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by “ The Local Bodies' Leans Act, 1926,” do raise a Special Loan of Two Hundred and Sixty-four Thousand Pounds . (£234,000), to be known as " Renewal Loan No. 2, 1934,” for the purpose of paying off the following Loans maturing on the First (Ist) Day of SEPTEMBER, 1934—that is to say: Antecedent Liability . Loans of £BO,OOO and £50,000 and Waipori Falls Loans of £122,800 and £77,200, towards the repayment of which the sum of £66,000 is available as sinking funds and other moneys. 2. That the security for the interest and sinking fund and repayment of the said Renewal Loan of £264,000 be a special annually recurring rate of Fivepence (sd) in the Pound (£) upon the rateable value (on the basis of the annual value) of all rateable property of the City of Dunedin, comprising the whole of the City, of Dunedin. 3. That the term of the said Renewal, Loan be Twenty (20) Years from the First (Ist) Day of SEPTEMBER, 1934. 4. That a sinking fund of Three Pounds Nine Shillings (£3 9s Od) per centum per annum on the amount of the said Renewal Loan be established in connection with, the same, and that : the amount of such sinking fluid bepaid to the Sinking Fund Commissioners of the said Loan on the First (Ist) Day of SEPTEMBER in each and every year during the currency of such Loan, being a period of Twenty (20) Years from the First (Ist) Day of SEPTEMBER, N 1934, or until the Loan is fully paid off, the first of such payments to be made on the First (Ist) Day of SEPTEMBER, 1935. 5. That the said Renewal Loan of £264,000 be raised by the issue of Debentures under “ The • Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1926,” and that each such Debenture shall bear interest at a rate not exceeding Three and • Three-quarters. per cent. (3J per cent.) per annum, payable halfyearly on the First (Ist) Day of MARCH and the First (Ist) Day of SEPTEMBER in each and every year during the currency of the Loan, or until the said Loan is fully paid off.
