WOMAN RISKS LIFE
EFFORT TO SAVE CAT DAUGHTER. SUFFERS BURNS. After she had rescued her daughter of ten from a blazing house in Melbourne recently, Mrs R. H. Watson returned through the flames to try to save the family cat. She narrowly escaped with her life. . , Sirs Watson awoke about midnight, and- found her bedroom in flames, fehe carried her daughter to the front door, and returned to rescue the cat, which had been a pet for ten years. A sheet of flame swept out of the doorway and burned the child, who, in great pain, allowed the door which she was homing open to close. Mrs Watson, escaped with difficulty. The cat was burned to death and the house was destroyed.
