(Received May 19, ah 1.30 a.m.) Ignoring Japan’s objections, the China committee of tho League of Nations authorised Herr Rajchmanu to continue tho reconstruction schemes on the lines of his report. Dr Wellington Koo said it was China’s inalienable right to choose assistance wherever she desired. [Dr Rajchmaun, tho League’s technical agent in China, recommended an extension of the League’s activities there, including tho improvement of irrigation, agriculture, and roads, and general reconstruction, preceded by coordination with tho existing establishment, Commenting on Dr Rajchmaun’s report, tho foreign spokesman for Japan said Dr Rajchmaun was in the guise of a technical expert, but was nothing but a political agent, and as a result he was a most unfortunate representative of tho League.]
