The detectives arc unable to make any progress towards the identification of the victim whose charred body was discovered in a wooden culvert at Balwyn. Fingerprints obtained from the charred hand afforded no assistance, as it is apparent that the victim had not been convicted at any period of bis career. (Received May 19, at 10.5 a.m.) The man whose charred body was found at Balwyn has as Rocco Petulla, aged thirty, an Italian labourer. The police believe Petulla was choked during a quarrel and afterwards the body was taken from xtichmond to Balwyn where it was burned. Two young Italians were charged at midnight with having murdered Petulla.
