NELSON'S APPEAL TO MINISTER

In connection with .Nelson’s representations to the Postmaster-General for assistance, to the local station, a largely attended public meeting held in the City Council Chambers unanimously passed a resolution asking the Minister to “ give practical recognition to what he admitted to be ‘ a moral obligation ’ devolving on the Government by arranging for a continuance of the adequate services now being rendered by 2ZR until such time as effective service can be given by the New Zealand Broadcasting Board, and desires to impress the Hon. Minister with the fact that while the board is receiving the license fees the local station, 2ZR, is supplying the service.” The resolution records that repeated applications have been made to the board without avail, hence the appeal was made to the Minister direct.
