GAPPING CONCERT

Characteristic of the spirit which has made the capping season one of lighthearted revelry, the concert at His Majesty’s Theatre last night was again successful, the uniformly sound standard of performance placing it on a pedestal of its own. Clever dialogue, excellent producing, and an orchestra that acquitted itself with distinction—all combined to earn the unstinted plaudits of the audience. - The vaudeville portion of the programme included many very witty efforts of a topical nature, while the sextet proved as popular as ever, ‘To the Last Man ’ was the most enjoyable item of. the evening, \yhile the interlude, ‘Will Bernard Burn Hard?’ and the farce on a motion picture were also well received. ‘Beau Geste’ and the interludes ‘ Pipped ’ and * The Dear Wife * were sketches of merit. The orchestral numbers were played by an orchestra which was far in advance of those of former years, and under the baton of Mr T. Maunsell contributed items that' added a balance to an enjoyable eritertainriient. The final presentation of the concert will bo given to-night.
