GOOD TEMPLARY
Hope'of Caversham Lodge, No. 128,. 1.0.G.T., held its weekly session on Thursday evening. Bro. Sequc presided over a'good attendance of members. After the business of the lodge was completed, Sister Donaldson conveyed ' the greetings ot the Rescue Lodge,. No. 105.-Sister Pauli was in charge of the programme, which was •“ Mothers’ ■ Night.” . Each mother was presented with a white flower and a card. Several papers were read, while some of .the .members addressed the lodo’e. AL hearty vote of thanks was accorded Sister Paul for the cards and flowers. Supper was handed round, after which the lodge was closed. Chief Templar Sister Beath presided over a fair - attendance of members of the Hope of Dunedin Lodge, No. 155, on" Wednesday last. The District Executive was also present. Several of- ■ fleers were absent through sickness. - The executive was given , a hearty welcome, and the D.C.T., Sister Giles, was invited to a seat next to the C.T. "Much good advice and encouragement were extended to the lodge by the ex- - ecutive, who were heartily thanked. ' The secretary’s report was received and adopted. An invitation, to the memorial 1 service to be held in memory of Bro. Stanley, P.D.M., was received, and all members were urged to attend. Refreshments were served. • The usual meeting of All Nations’ ' Lodge, No. 13, was held on Thursday, C.T, Bro. Wade presiding over a small attendance of members. A vacancy in ’ the lodge made it necessary to elect a vice-templar. Bro. Paris was nominated to fill this position. The .district • deputy and lodge deputy installed Bro. Paris into his new position. Sister Mrs • Campbell gave a very interesting report of the Grand Lodge session. The report was received, and Sister .Campbell was accorded a vote of thanks, carried by acclamation. Bro. Campbell also gave a brief outline of some ot the duties which fall to a G.L. officer. The remainder of the meeting was devoted to a brmg-and-buy sale. It was decided to have an open night next lodge night, hoping that the result would be adding to the numbers and the possibility of new members. The meeting closed with the usual ceremony. Sister M. Thomas, C.T., presided at the weekly meeting of the Rescue Lodge, No. 105, held in the Oddfellows .Hall, Kensington. There was a good attendance of - members, and visitors were present -from the Hope of Dunedin and Hope of Caversham Lodges, the fraternal greetings of which were conveyed by Sister Beath and Bro. Seque respectively. Intimation was__receivcd of the proposed visit of the District Lodge Executive,' and arrangements to receive the members were made accordingly. The superintendent of educational work was responsible for the programme of the evening, items being contributed on ‘ Temperance Education ’ by the following Sisters Donaldson, E. Duncan, E. Brooks, M. Dougall, M. Thomas, Bros.; T. H. Dalton, R. Hall, E. Brooks, and E. lies. Recitations .were given- _by . Sisters Beath and D) Leckie. . The juvenile sessions are reported as being ot value to the*- younger people; and temperance lessons' are imparted to them.
