ARRESTED IN GERMANY
'DAILY' EXPRESS'S’ CORRESPONDENT BRITISH CONSUL INVESTIGATING Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright BERLIN, May 10. (Received May 17, at 12.5 p.m.) Storm troopers arrested Mr Pembroke Stephens, the ‘ Daily Express’s ’ correspondent, his wife, and his wife’s cousin, Mr G. P. Reynolds, near Dassau. Mr Stephens was motor touring in search of details of Germany’s economic condition. The party was arrested after ho had inquired the reason for the industrial activity in the Aken forest. The police questioned the trio for several hours, then locked them in separate hotel rooms under a guard. Eventually they handed them over to the secret police at Magdeburg. The British Consul is investigating. PARTY RELEASED. BERLIN, May 16. (Received May 17, at 2 p.m.) Mr Stephens and his party have been released.
