FROZEN FUEL
STEAMER RETURNS TO PORT i Per United Press Association.l WELLINGTON, Way IS. Through the thick fuel oil in the blinkers congealing ami- setting so bard that the boilers were scarcely being toil the Trojan Star put back after being nearly a iveek out from Auckland for London via Panama, and arrived hero this morning. It is thought that the bunkers might have been affected by tbe proximity of the refrigerating apparatus, but until expert investigation has been made no definite statement can be made The vessel's boilers are fitted for either coal or oil. Sbc came out on eoal and was transferred to oil fuel before leaving Auckland. About 600 tons of Diesel fuel oil were pumped into tbe Trojan Star’s <i! bunkers to-night. It was hoped that this lighter oil would mix with the vessel's own fuel oil, liquifying it sufficiently to enable the pumps to supply it to the furnaces at normal pressure. Experiments with this mixture were carried out to-night, and were stated to be proving fairly satisfactory. These trials will be continued to-morrow, when it .is hoped that completely satisfactory results will be obtained.
