OTUREHUA CLUB MEETING

The. second annual meeting of the Otnreluux Winter Sports Club was held in the Public Hall, Otnrchna, on the evening of the 9th inst. 'J'hore. was an excellent attendance of those interested. the fair sox being well represented. and the enthusiasm evinced augurs well for the ensuing season. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, the president (Mr 1). G. Becker) remarked that the small credit balance shown was entirely satisfactory in view of the fact that*last year’s carnival incurred heavy expenditure, and that the club was then in its infancy. It was hoped that every effort would bo made to secure new’members and donations to enable the club to purchase necessary requirements for the safety of skaters, and to erect required appointments tor the convenience of visiting enthusiasts. The following office-bearers were elected;—Patron. Mr 11. S. Black; president, Mr D. G. Becker; vice-presi-dents —Miss Brenda Bell, Messrs T. Gilchrist. sen.. O. Balk, •). A. Allan, and Dr W. S. Eudoy; lion, secretary, Mr G. Stuart; bon. treasurer. Mr A. W, llobertson ; committee —Misses G. Gilchrist, A. Nicholson, and Messrs A. Stuart, sen., -1. Becker; E. Nicholson, D. Allan, and G. Clarkson. It was resolved to purchase a number of pairs of skates for hire to visitors. the actual nnmberto be obtained being left to the discretion of the committee A first-aid outfit would be obtained for use in the event ol emergency.
